Happy Monaco
2014
Mixed media installation
1.5 x 8 meters

“Happy Monaco” is an iconic landscape of the Principauté de Monaco.

This 8 x 1.5 meter site-specific work was commissioned by the Monaco Pharmaceutical Council for its headquarter to permanently enliven the office's entrance hallway and to transform it into a dynamic communication axis. The work made of multiple wood panels mounted on the wall, unites a variety of fine art, design elements and objects mirroring Monaco's astonishing diversity.

The visuals were hand-drawn at a relatively small scale, then combined with photographic material before being digitally printed. The printed panels were subsequently free-hand painted and collaged with three-dimensional elements such as chandelier crystal drops, vintage automobile parts, vintage posters, casino chips, dice and miniature collection cars.
